The Climate Change Action Network (ClimateCAN) is a group of concerned citizens who organized in October of 2006 in response to growing evidence and concern over the impacts of global warming, such as spring flooding, summer water shortages, increased wild fires and shortened ski seasons.   We have come together to join a growing global evolution, a shift in human perception from one of personal denial to personal responsibility.

Our mission is to educate and empower our communities to make decisions that both prepare us for and mitigate the impacts of climate change.

Our vision is to gain widespread support for conservation and efficiency.   We hope to get a majority of people to feel enough to care enough to change our behavior.

ClimateCAN has two branches - the founding branch in Sandpoint, Idaho and the other in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Both groups are open to the public and invite all interested people to join them.  The Sandpoint branch of ClimateCAN holds a public forum every other month, September - May. 2007-2008
